As part of his latest solo exhibit taking place at Tokyo-based gallery NANZUKA, Hajime Sorayama presents works of dinosaurs in his signature mecha forms.
Ever since the 1980s, the Japanese artist has been depicting works of mechanical animals and humans, considering them as childhood idols. The solo presentation showcases artwork in two- and three-dimensional forms, featuring paintings of stegosaurus, raptors, and triceratops with metal motifs, there’s even a sculpture of a robotized Tyrannosaurus.
Coinciding with the exhibition is the launch of special edition merch in partnership with UNIQLO. The collaborative UNIQLO UT Jurassic World collection will be available in March.
Dinosauria is on view until March 7, 2021. Visit NANZUKA’s website to learn more.
